Say Cheese
We stopped at the Tillamook Cheese factory for an ice cream on Saturday after a drive up the coast on the coldest day ever at the beach. We put on our happy faces and tried to make the best of this stop.
Bad thing: So they came all the way out to be able to play on the coast in the sand and we were all shivering and completely bagged that plan. Of course the cheese making was not going on and it was a Saturday so it was packed-the lines were outrageous. Mona wanted to buy some of the cheese-but the lines were too long, especially with 5 toddlers and 2 babies. So the point of all this-the ice cream was all we got out of that drive, and it was not worth the trip!
We decided to drive into Portland and go see the sights and eat at a yummy restaraunt in town, maybe go see the temple-knowing that at least that would be a good ending to a miserable day. Didn't happen-not too far out of Portland we got the call that Kaleo had been killed in a car accident. Scott dropped us off at my moms and they continued on home a day early from the worst vacation they ever had.
After all expenses were added up for this little week outing for them-they could have all flown to Hawaii or gone on a cruise. So much for them coming to visit again!
